Overview

• Ischemic heart disease is a general term for conditions where the heart cannot receive sufficient oxygen due to narrowing of the blood vessels that supply oxygen to the heart, resulting in chest pain and reduced heart function.
• More specific diagnoses include angina pectoris and myocardial infarction.
